Renovation of a Haussmannian apartment in Paris

As part of this apartment renovation project, the interior architect proposed a design approach in continuity with the existing layout. The typical features of Haussmannian apartments (mouldings, herringbone parquet flooring, period fireplaces) were preserved. Work on the furniture, materials and colours transformed the perception of the spaces throughout the apartment.
The entrance
The entrance stands out with a deep blue shade that envelops the volumes and highlights a custom-designed bench, creating a natural extension of the interior design.
The living room
In the living room, the Haussmannian proportions and existing fireplace interact with contemporary seating featuring generous shapes (such as the sofa by Bolia) as well as designer pieces like the Pumpkin armchair (Ligne Roset). On the wall, there is a white Kriptonite Krossing shelf.
At the centre, a ceramic coffee table (Dendi - AM.PM) glazed in shades of green structures the composition and organises circulation within the living space. Bright textiles and plants bring softness and freshness, while the chromatic palette subtly enhances the volumes and clarifies the reading of the different areas.
The kitchen
The kitchen layout was completely redesigned to make it more practical for everyday use, without altering its spatial balance.
A Saarinen table (Knoll) and vintage Breuer chairs, particularly cherished by the client, naturally find their place here and illustrate the approach adopted for this renovation: combining bespoke fittings, designer pieces and carefully sourced vintage elements.
The guest bedroom
The guest bedroom received particular attention from the interior architect to create a soft atmosphere in keeping with the overall identity of the apartment.
A warm “peach” tone covers the walls and highlights the existing fireplace. A curved dressing room was custom-designed. The iconic Togo armchair (Ligne Roset) in camel leather also features in the room. For lighting, several fixtures were selected, including a Stelle wall light (The Socialite Family).
